Jetson-like lifeguard stand in Miami Beach

A buff lifeguard on a Post-Modern, Miami Beach, lifeguard stand designed by architect William Lane and his friend, pop artist Kenny Scharf.

Their joyful design takes Nautical Moderne memes -- such as the porthole windows and metal railings -- from Miami Beach's Art Deco past, and combines them with a spacey and playful, Jetsons cartoon-like sensibility, as seen in the decorative antenna-like finial and the vibrant pink and yellow paint job.
