Miami Modern (MiMo) style Publix supermarket
The Publix supermarket chain built more than 60 stores like this in Florida from the late 1940s to the late 1960s. This one, known as Number 93, was built in South Beach in 1963. I made this photo in the early 1990s, but as of 2016 the store remains in operation there, one of the few surviving examples of this space-age, neon light-bedecked, Miami Modern (MiMo) design.
