An incredibly finished doorknob in the bathroom of Miami Modern master architect Morris Lapidus's self-designed Miami Beach duplex apartment. I photographed it in 1999 on assignment for The New York Times, but Morris, who was 96 at the time, had not changed the apartment since the 1960s, so it was like walking into an open time capsule of the MiMo style from that long past era.
