The Empire State Building in circa 1940s postcard

The Empire State Buiding and Midtown and Lower Manhattan as seen from the observation desk of the RCA (formerly General Electric) Building in a vintage postcard, probably from the 1940s. The tower lacks the long television antenna mast that was installed in 1950; and the back of the card says it was shot on Kodachrome -- which was introduced in still photography formats in 1936. So we can say that this image was made sometime between 1936 and 1950.
