Miami Modern (MiMo) architect Morris Lapidus, age 96, in April 1999, at the dedication of a plaque on Miami Beach's Lincoln Road commemorating Morris's designs of soaring and joyful structures there. These imaginative "follies" as they are sometimes called, were designed by Lapidus circa 1959 when Lincoln Road was turned into a pioneering pedestrian mall under his creative direction.
